Carters Lake – Lines sides – Good for size. The fall bite is starting to take hold.. Big shad are the ticket right now for catching Trophy fish. Flat lines and board are working best early up the river from Ridgeway up to the no house boat sign. Once the sun comes up with have been moving down to the main Lake. Main lake points from Striper Island ( Island just up from Doll Mountain ) to Stumpy Island ( Island just south of Worley) has been good mid-day. All the creeks are holding fish but the bigger fish seems to be off the river channel. As we move into December look for these fish to migrate with the bait to the backs of the creeks. Carters isn’t a numbers lake. But it does give up some really big fish this time of the year. Just be patience and good things may happen.Read More

Line sides Fishing is Good and getting Better !! The fall bite is starting to heat up. The north end of the lake is still producing some nice stripers along with good numbers of White bass. The bigger stripers are eating Gizzard shad fished on planer boards and free lines both right at sun up and again at sun down. Look for these fish from Little River up to Fields Landing and as far south as Kelloggs.
The Hybrids and white bass are really starting to school and blowing up all over the lake right now. We have seen some big schools breaking the surface from the Dam to the S-turns. These busting fish will eat almost anything you throw at them.
When these fish go down they will still bite thread fins and small gizzards fish on down lines as well as spoons. Bait is starting to get really hard to net. The water temp was 58 degrees on 11/20/13 early morning and the lights are bring them in to the boat like weeks passed. So be sure to take some with you…. Striper Soup has plenty of fresh shad of all sizes in stock..
The sea gulls are starting to show up and will make finding the fish a little easier for us over the upcoming holiday break. Remember Allatoona has very few loons. If you see birds diving on Allatoona this normally means there are line sides near by….. We have some days open next week. Please give us a call at 770 827-6282 if you would like to book a trip.
Troller’s keep pulling your Mack farr u- rigs 60 -120 feet behind the boat at speeds between 2.4 – 3.1 miles and hour…….Read More

Line Sides Better !
The fish are starting to bunch up and are starting to eat. We have boated some really nice fish in the pass two weeks. And lost a couple that could have been new lake records. The fish are really scatter right now. We are catching fish in the backs of the creeks early ( Fisher, Worley, Harris Branch and Doll Mountain. Most of our fish are coming on shad. But as we move into December the bite will be better on small and medium tout. Umbrella rigs are really starting to work well on Carters Lake as well as Lake Allatoona. We are running the one and only Mack Farr u rigs. We are running our rigs 140 – 210 feet behind the boat. At speeds of 2.4 – 3.3 miles and hour. If throwing the net isn’t your thing Buddy at Bart’s Bait and Tackle has plenty of trout in stock. And opens super early. Stop by and he will hook you up with great bait and even better BBQ. Carters lake is just beautiful right now. Throw in the bonus of the chance to catch a fish of a lifetime. Makes a fishing trip aboard the nicest guide boat on the lake a must for this fall. The summer boat traffic is over, and with deer season being in full swing, not too many people are on the lakes. It’s just a peaceful time of the year to wet a line.
