Line-side fishing is Great….. The fish are starting to move into a summer pattern. And the bite that was so strong mid-lake is starting to slow down compared to last week. The fish are starting to move off the flats and humps and are starting to school out over the river and creek channels. This week we have caught fish as deep as 50 feet. Down lining live bait is you best bet right now. Look for these big schools to start to move south as the water warms into eighty’s. Striper Soup has plenty of shad in stock. For those of you that don’t want to get up at 3am.
Top Water…. Slow !!!! There is limited top water action right at sun up. But you have to be in the right place at the right time. It really isn’t worth targeting yet…..
Trolling is fair at best.. But should heat up in the up coming weeks……Read More
Carters Linesides !!! Good especially for big fish. Carters has never been known for numbers, but is is known for big fish of all species. With the the linesides being my personal favorite. This pass week my clients have boated and lost some monster fish. We fished a limited schedule this pass month do to the weather and me coming down with the flu. But even with limited days on the pond we boated four fish from 21 -24 lbs and lost some really big ones.
The key to Carters this year is Shad. Every year these fish seem to hit one bait better then the others. Last year it was Alewife the year before Trout. But this year Shad is king.
We are seeing limited action on Planner Boards and Free lines this year. Most of the action we are getting on these techniques is right at sun up. The down line bite is by far the best bite on the lake. all the main creeks are holding fish. Down lines fished from 50 – 80 over bait is working best. The bigger your shad the better. Remember your not going to load the boat. But trophy’s are rare and they are biting right now. Call me if you would like to go chase a big fish.
Spots Great !!! There are big schools all over the lake right now. A 1/2 oz spoon is working extremely well on the fish. Look for these fish on a 40-70 bottom. Backs of the creeks and main lake pockets has been working best for our crews….
The fishing on Carters Lake remains good for both Stripers and Spotted bass aboard the boats of Firstbite. Fall is my favorite month to fish Carters lake. The view is breath taking and the fishing can be off the charts. We are a five Star rated guide service. We have been in Business for close to twenty years. And our equipment is second to none. The south end of the lake is still holding fish. But not as many as weeks past. I have none really well mid lake this week. And have heard there has been a few good fish caught near the delta this week .. The fish are still hitting flat line and planner boards best early morning. By 930 am change over to down-lines and u-rigs .. The spring run has started . The white have already started running up the river. And it want be long before the Hybrids and Stripers start their run as well.. Top Water the top water bite is also starting to pick up. The both the flats at Little River and the Delta are starting to heat up at sun up and sun down….. White Roster Tails are hard to beat when these fish are busting top water,,,, April is one of the best months for Stripers and Hybrids on Lake Allatoona. And normally books up fast. Line Sides Better !
The fish are starting to bunch up and are starting to eat. We have boated some really nice fish in the pass two weeks. And lost a couple that could have been new lake records. The fish are really scatter right now. We are catching fish in the backs of the creeks early ( Fisher, Worley, Harris Branch and Doll Mountain. Most of our fish are coming on shad. But as we move into December the bite will be better on small and medium tout. Umbrella rigs are really starting to work well on Carters Lake as well as Lake Allatoona. We are running the one and only Mack Farr u rigs. We are running our rigs 140 – 210 feet behind the boat. At speeds of 2.4 – 3.3 miles and hour. If throwing the net isn’t your thing Buddy at Bart’s Bait and Tackle has plenty of trout in stock. And opens super early. Stop by and he will hook you up with great bait and even better BBQ. Carters lake is just beautiful right now. Throw in the bonus of the chance to catch a fish of a lifetime. Makes a fishing trip aboard the nicest guide boat on the lake a must for this fall. The summer boat traffic is over, and with deer season being in full swing, not too many people are on the lakes. It’s just a peaceful time of the year to wet a line. Remember Christmas is just around the corner. Give Certificate with Carters Lake Fishing Charters is now available. Call 770 827-6282 for details. http://carterslakefishingguide.com/
