Line-side fishing is Great….. The fish are starting to move into a summer pattern. And the bite that was so strong mid-lake is starting to slow down compared to last week. The fish are starting to move off the flats and humps and are starting to school out over the river and creek channels. This week we have caught fish as deep as 50 feet. Down lining live bait is you best bet right now. Look for these big schools to start to move south as the water warms into eighty’s. Striper Soup has plenty of shad in stock. For those of you that don’t want to get up at 3am.
Top Water…. Slow !!!! There is limited top water action right at sun up. But you have to be in the right place at the right time. It really isn’t worth targeting yet…..
Trolling is fair at best.. But should heat up in the up coming weeks……
Read MoreCarters Linesides !!! Good especially for big fish. Carters has never been known for numbers, but is is known for big fish of all species. With the the linesides being my personal favorite. This pass week my clients have boated and lost some monster fish. We fished a limited schedule this pass month do to the weather and me coming down with the flu. But even with limited days on the pond we boated four fish from 21 -24 lbs and lost some really big ones.
The key to Carters this year is Shad. Every year these fish seem to hit one bait better then the others. Last year it was Alewife the year before Trout. But this year Shad is king.
We are seeing limited action on Planner Boards and Free lines this year. Most of the action we are getting on these techniques is right at sun up. The down line bite is by far the best bite on the lake. all the main creeks are holding fish. Down lines fished from 50 – 80 over bait is working best. The bigger your shad the better. Remember your not going to load the boat. But trophy’s are rare and they are biting right now. Call me if you would like to go chase a big fish.
Spots Great !!! There are big schools all over the lake right now. A 1/2 oz spoon is working extremely well on the fish. Look for these fish on a 40-70 bottom. Backs of the creeks and main lake pockets has been working best for our crews….

Carters Lake – Lines sides – Good for size. The fall bite is starting to take hold.. Big shad are the ticket right now for catching Trophy fish. Flat lines and board are working best early up the river from Ridgeway up to the no house boat sign. Once the sun comes up with have been moving down to the main Lake. Main lake points from Striper Island ( Island just up from Doll Mountain ) to Stumpy Island ( Island just south of Worley) has been good mid-day. All the creeks are holding fish but the bigger fish seems to be off the river channel. As we move into December look for these fish to migrate with the bait to the backs of the creeks. Carters isn’t a numbers lake. But it does give up some really big fish this time of the year. Just be patience and good things may happen.

Line-sides ! The recent Super Moon has gotten the big girls up and active. Flat lines and Planner Boards are working very well right at sun and then again at sun down. Medium to Large Gizzard shad and Thread fins are all working well. The north end of the lake is the place to be right now. We have caught decent fish from Kellogg Creek north to Little River. After the sun comes up try down lining off a any main lake point. First Bite Gift Certificates are now available. Call for Details 770 827-6282.

Line sides Fishing is Good and getting Better !! The fall bite is starting to heat up. The north end of the lake is still producing some nice stripers along with good numbers of White bass. The bigger stripers are eating Gizzard shad fished on planer boards and free lines both right at sun up and again at sun down. Look for these fish from Little River up to Fields Landing and as far south as Kelloggs.
The Hybrids and white bass are really starting to school and blowing up all over the lake right now. We have seen some big schools breaking the surface from the Dam to the S-turns. These busting fish will eat almost anything you throw at them.
When these fish go down they will still bite thread fins and small gizzards fish on down lines as well as spoons. Bait is starting to get really hard to net. The water temp was 58 degrees on 11/20/13 early morning and the lights are bring them in to the boat like weeks passed. So be sure to take some with you…. Striper Soup has plenty of fresh shad of all sizes in stock..
The sea gulls are starting to show up and will make finding the fish a little easier for us over the upcoming holiday break. Remember Allatoona has very few loons. If you see birds diving on Allatoona this normally means there are line sides near by….. We have some days open next week. Please give us a call at 770 827-6282 if you would like to book a trip.
Troller’s keep pulling your Mack farr u- rigs 60 -120 feet behind the boat at speeds between 2.4 – 3.1 miles and hour…….
